Students at IIDEX 2009

As ARIDO looks forward to the Next 25 Years, student members will be more involved than ever in the IIDEX experience. It will begin with a Student Passport that will take them on a guided tour of the trade show floor, providing them with the opportunity to see all the feature exhibits and spend quality time with the exhibitors in their booths. Students will have an opportunity to display their artistic skills, meet and mingle at the career exchange, and cheer on classmates at the Student Charrette.

Student Passport Program

Be sure to bring your Student Passport to IIDEX/NeoCon Canada! It will help you navigate your way through the show and ensure that you participate in key activities and events. Your passport will lead you through the more than 400 exhibitors featuring the latest innovative products and projects. Enter your completed passport in a draw to win a "Day with a Designer," one-on-one time with a Registered ARIDO member, who can teach you the ins and outs of interior design.

The drop box for completed passports will be located at the ARIDO Booth #1200.

Student Career Exchange

The Student Career Exchange offers students one-on-one time with a number of interior designers, who will talk about their designs, business practices, and project experiences.. You will have 10 minutes with each interior designer before moving on to the next to hear a new set of experiences. This fast-paced, insightful, knowledge-sharing session is fun for all participants, and is a Student Passport requirement. Make sure you are eligible to enter the draw for a "Day with a Designer" by visiting the Career Exchange.

The Student Career Exchange will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 24 in the Light Café, and Friday, September 25 in the Green Bistro.

Student Volunteer Program

Be first in your class. Join the ARIDO Student Volunteer Program at IIDEX/NeoCon Canada, You will be assigned an exhibitor partner for a day, where you will learn about the exhibitor's product and business while helping with the flow of visitor traffic and education at the exhibitor's booth. Involve yourself in the industry's largest trade show and promote yourself to a potential summer employer.

Awards Gala – Puttin’ on the Glitz

Student Charrette

Now in its third year, the Student Charrettes are a popular feature at IIDEX. The charrette for interior design students will take place Thursday, September 24; the architectural student charrette will take place Friday, September 25. Students can register for this competition with their school program coordinators. The teams will not know any details about what they will be asked to build before they arrive at IIDEX. However, they will be told what tools they can bring. They will be given a design conundrum and, though a combination of team skills and talent, will create a structure that will be judged later in the day. World’s Largest Design Competition for Students Debuts at IIDEX

Make sure to stop by the International Design Awards exhibit featuring the best student designs from Europe. Sponsored by Hettich, this exhibit explores the latest design concepts on the future of residential and office design.
