Students
Tomorrow’s Design Professionals Today
This year the student members of ARIDO will be more involved than ever before as they bring another dimension of "Experiencing Tomorrow Today" to the show! Their IIDEX experience will begin with a Student Passport that will take them on a guided tour of the tradeshow floor, providing them with the opportunity to spend quality time with the exhibitors in their booths. Ask questions, see new product, and meet your future business contacts!
Student Passport Program
Attention all ARIDO Student members: Be sure to have your Student Passport to IIDEX/Neocon Canada! This passport has been developed for use by students currently studying interior design as a guide to help you navigate your way through the show. Using this passport will ensure that you participate in the key activities and events while allowing ample time to visit over 400 exhibitors featuring the latest innovative products that you may specify in one of your future projects.
Would you like to have an interior designer guide you through the show? Tours will begin at 1:00PM and 2:00PM at the ARIDO Booth on both days.
Student Career Exchange
The Student Career Exchange offers students direct time with interior designers to learn about their design stories, business practices, and project experiences. But you have to be fast -- students have 10 minutes with an interior designer before moving on to the next one and hearing a new set of experiences. This fast-paced, insightful, knowledge-sharing session is fun for all participants.
The Student Career Exchange will be taking place:
Thursday from 10:00AM-11:30AM in the IIDEX Bistro
Friday from 10:00AN-11:30AM in the Light Cafe
Student Charrette
Now in its second year, last year's biggest success story was the Student Charrette. Students register for this competition with their school program coordinators and school teams arrive at IIDEX with little known to them other than the tools they may bring. That morning we reveal their design conundrum and let them toil over their approach in quiet groups, before plotting their creative structures/floor exhibits to be judged later that day. For more information please contact your program coordinator.
Student/Exhibitor Volunteer Program
Look for Student ARIDO members across the show floor as they volunteer at the industry's largest event. An integral part of IIDEX, students are encouraged to join the ARIDO Volunteer Program and be assigned an exhibitor partner for a day. Students learn about the exhibitor's product and business while helping with the flow of visitor traffic and education within the booth space. Exhibitors and students have always enjoyed this program and many summer jobs have come from this experience.
Intern Challenge: In a Different Light
"In a Different Light" is a new design competition for ARIDO Intern members. They are faced with the challenge of re-purposing a familiar item into a lighting fixture. While this competition begins in the summer, all of the entries will be featured at the awards gala so be on the lookout for these new and innovative lighting projects.

24 Denim Drive
Be sure to stop by
24 Denim Drive while at IIDEX/NeoCon Canada Show! And bring your old blue jeans!
ARIDO student members will be collecting your donations to be mulched and used as insulation in the Habitat for Humanity build projects. Watch as 24 Denim Drive comes to life as student volunteers construct a home of denim.
Also watch for the Student volunteers at the Habitat for Humanity Charity Drive. Bring your previously-loved jeans to IIDEX and turn them in at the booth to be mulched into insulation for the many houses being built through the generosity of Habitat volunteers.
