(Toronto) IIDEX/NeoCon Canada 2008 exposition and conference this September 25 and 26 is presenting an Architecture Keynote speaker unlike any other. His working method, which springs from five words: investigate, ask, tell, draw, build are well known within the industry.

Kim Herforth Nielsen has established his 20-year old firm, 3XN, as one of Europe’s most imaginative architectural practices.  During his keynote, Henforth Nielsen will present a number of 3XN’s highly regarded projects and will discuss his firm’s architectural working method.

Herforth Nielsen’s list of accomplishments includes the Royal Danish Embassy in Berlin, the Music Building in Amsterdam and the upcoming Museum of Liverpool, to be completed in 2010. A major factor in his success has been the immense importance he places on investigating and interpreting the historical and cultural context of the site of each new project.

A graduate of Aarhus School of Architecture in 1981, Herforth Nielsen has lectured at art academies, school of architecture, conferences and symposia all over the world. He is a judge in the Danish Architecture Association’s competitions and has been a jury member in Architectural Review’s emerging architecture awards. Kim is honoured with the Danish Knight’s Cross, and the Eckersberg Medaille.
