Going for Gold – The Olympic Build

image

(Toronto) It’s a monumental challenge: oversee all the major projects associated with Canada’s 2010 Winter Olympics. Greg Scott, P. Eng. LEED A.P. will lead the way to the games with 19 years of experience as a multidiscipline team leader, managing complex projects from the perspective of owner and consultant.  He is also the Director of the Major Projects Office based in Richmond, BC, and is IIDEX / NeoCon Canada’s 2008 Facility Management Keynote Speaker this September 25, 2008.

Scott will provide an insider’s view on the unique challenges and opportunities he is experiencing as he tackles multi-use in the context of the 2010 Winter Games. The Major Projects Office has specialized technical, planning and management staff resources with responsibility for project management of the technical, design and construction aspects of the City’s major projects, including Canada Line and the Richmond Oval. Post-Games, the $178-million project will be a showcase multipurpose facility, harmoniously integrating year-round sport, recreation, culture and business along the Fraser River.
