Industry consultant Jim Heilborn will highlight practices used to systematically find, attract and retain qualified employees. The session will address the following: effective candidate searches; the development of job descriptions and goals; assessing candidates; onboarding new employees, including orientation and mentoring; and non-compensation factors affecting retention.
Speaker: California-based Jim Heilborn, an independent business consultant with clients across the country, works primarily with dealers, service providers and manufacturers in the office furniture business. Jim began his career as a furniture buyer in San Francisco and later held executive positions at Beier & Gunderson, and Lindsay’s (now One Workplace). His firm, Jim Heilborn Associates, works in all business areas, including sales, operations, human resources and recruiting.
