This presentation will offer an in-depth look at each of the “Greening the Patient Experience” exhibit concepts. Attendees will learn about readily available sustainable products, how to apply evidence-based design, what constitutes a healing environment and see examples of the following ideas: First, do no harm; promote the health and well-being of staff and families; connect to the outdoor environment; and minimize the impact of a patient’s room on the natural environment through sustainable practices.
Speaker: Suzanne Drake is senior interior designer with San Francisco-based Anshen + Allen, concentrating on healthcare projects. She has worked on all phases, from programming through construction administration and furniture installation. Suzanne has extensive technical expertise on interior architecture system components and materials, with a focus on sustainable materials. She holds a BA in interior design from the University of Florida’s School of Architecture and is NCIDQ and LEED 2.0 certified.
