This “Spot the Energy Savings Opportunities” workshop is a hands-on interactive experience. Facilitators will use a variety of demonstrations, calculation worksheets, graphic slides, role plays, case studies and discussion to create an effective and enjoyable learning environment. Topics include an overview of energy management and energy terminology, organizational context and self-assessment of organizational competencies, seven steps to reduce consumption and costs, key actions, and a checklist of opportunities. Participants will learn about the importance of managing energy; the key role people play in reducing consumption and costs; how to effectively monitor consumption; low cost/no cost ways to save; a scheme for prioritizing actions; ecoEnergy financial incentives; and software for building the business case for energy projects.
Speaker: Technical consultant Stephen Dixon is principal of TdS Dixon Inc., of St. Jacobs, Ontario. He brings a practical, hands-on approach to energy management, serving a broad range of clients, including industrial, commercial, government and utility organizations. Stephen has more than 25 years of energy management experience, including conducting more than 500 energy audits and facilitating more than 500 energy management workshops.
Garth White, principal at Qui Tunc Inc., is an energy management coach. Over the past two decades, he has encouraged a diverse portfolio of clients to integrate sustainable energy management principles. These clients include consultants, governmental bodies, energy suppliers, market authorities and a broad spectrum of energy end-users. He has participated in more than 100 energy end-use and management system assessments and has facilitated more than 500 energy management workshops.
