The Ontario Realty Corporation (ORC) is a major customer of Ontario’s design and construction industry, initiating 2,000 to 2,500 contracts, worth approximately $350 million, annually. ORC is implementing a new business model that will lead to a consistent project-services delivery approach across the province. ORC has invited ARIDO, along with Consulting Engineers of Ontario, the Ontario General Contractors Association and the Ontario Association of Architects, to re-energize the Strategic Opportunities Committee (SOC). The committee is a liaison group established to provide a forum for discussing and addressing industry concerns. The speakers will present background on SOC and its objectives, and provide an overview of work underway.

Speakers: ORC has engaged architect Brian Watkinson, former executive director of the OAA and a founder of the original committee, to facilitate the consultation process. Brian’s company, Strategies 4 Impact!, provides strategic advice and support to businesses in the design and construction sector and their clients.

Mike Greidanus is ORC’s senior vice president of project services, responsible for leading the project services business unit and the transformation to the new delivery model. His corporate real estate experience spans a broad spectrum, including engineering, project management, strategic workspace planning, facility management and strategic sourcing.
