Designing and building with Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified wood products is not only an environmentally responsible choice, it’s also a way to earn multiple credits under the LEED green building rating system. Learn about FSC certification and how to incorporate FSC-certified products into your next project so that you can earn multiple LEED credits. Case studies and examples of FSC-certified products will be presented, along with practical advice and guidance on how to specify and find suppliers and sources of FSC-certified products.

Speaker: Maia Becker is manager of communications and clients services with FSC Canada. Maia has worked internationally and locally in the areas of certification, marketing, economic development and education. She holds a master’s in forest conservation from the University of Toronto. Her work focuses on raising awareness of sustainability issues related to paper and wood procurement, and in facilitating market supply and demand for certified products. Maia is also an elected board member of the Toronto chapter of the Canadian Green Building Council.
