By adding a scent to a room, an entirely new dimension can be created. Research shows that aromas can increase spending, reduce the effects of sick building syndrome and better define brand marketing. This seminar will look at how scent is used in Canadian offices, facilities, retail establishments and hospitals, and explore the regulatory process. Designers will be challenged and educated about an industry that started in 1190 and is now worth $18 billion annually.
Speaker: Perfumer Tracy Pepe started Nose Knows Consulting, a scent marketing and design firm, 15 years ago. A professional fragrance evaluator, she has served as a consultant to various companies, including Umbra, Richardson Interior Designers and Loblaws. She was the creator and coordinator of Canada’s first sensory/aromatherapy program, at Sheridan College.
