The Green Side of IIDEX: In continuing a mandate to present the best in sustainable products and design, IIDEX/NeoCon 2007, brings attendees the most innovative seminars, exhibits and special features that carefully consider the “green” future of the built environment. In partnership with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), IIDEX/NeoCon Canada will unveil the FSC Business Forum, and innovative wood and exposition and conference. This program will include a riveting environmental keynote presented by Joe Van Belleghem; a leader in LEED certified building. In his presentation Challenge What We Know and Learn from Nature, Van Belleghem will explain how environmental techniques such as construction waste management and a natural systems approach to storm water management pay off economically.

FSc, The Forest Stewardship Council, a IIDEX/NeoCon Canad partner wil present a multifaceted program of seminars during their Build For LEED with FSC, interactive learning labs as well as presenting their 2nd annual awards for environmental leadership, The FSC Winds of Change Award Ceremony and Gala Dinner will take place the evening of September 28th, 2007 in Heritage Court, Direct Energy Centre, Exhibition Place (Toronto, ON) adjacent to the IIDEX NeoCon tradeshow floor. 

This is an evening gala at which The Honourable Lauren Broten, Minister of the Environment of Ontario will present the 2007 Forest Stewardship Council Winds of Change Award to Mr. Jim Lopez, President and C.E.O. of Tembec Inc., a company that has changed the face of forestry and the market for certified products in Canada.
