NEW for 2005

New for 2005, IIDEX/NeoCon Canada now includes the Canadian Facility Management Design Expo and Conference.

Our long term objective is to continue to further diversify and develop IIDEX/NeoCon Canada to make it the rallying point for designers of different disciplines. For 2005, this means expanding the representation of architectural products and building on the tremendous momentum generated by the dynamic feature exhibits - GREENlife Sustainable Design, IES Exposure to Light, JumpStart and The Terrazzo Tile & Marble Showcase. At the same time, we will continue to strengthen our exhibitor base in the established areas of design – workplace, retail, healthcare, hospitality, architectural, facility management and sustainable design.

Benefit from the IIDEX/NeoCon Canada extensive marketing program
We get our message to specifiers and the media through direct mail, fax and e-mail updates, ads in top trade and business magazines and with the help of the more than 20 major industry associations that encourage their members to attend.

Reach Canada’s key decision-makers

IIDEX/NeoCon Canada develops show features and organizes keynote speakers, an educational program and special events to attract the best in the business from the Toronto area (the 4th largest market in North America), across Canada and the bordering states.

  • IIDEX/NeoCon Canada attracts specifiers with purchasing power: Forty-two per cent work for or run companies that specify more than $500,000 in furnishings per year, with over half of these reporting over $1 million.
  • IIDEX/NeoCon Canada attendees are decision-makers, with 70% stating that they make or influence buying or specifying decisions.
  • IIDEX/NeoCon Canada attendees encompass all design specialties. Office projects account for 46% of their time, while healthcare accounts for 4%, with 9% reported for each of retail, hospitality and institutional/government/education projects. Residential work was estimated at 22% of attendees’ project time.

Statistics On-site surveys indicate that:

  • 48% of the specifiers attending each control over $500,000 of product purchases annually, with half of these responsible for budgets in excess of $5 million.
  • The total economic impact of ARIDO member firms in 1998 (the year of the last survey) was $4 billion, two-thirds of the national figure of $6 billion for Interior Designers of Canada member firms.
  • Toronto, the business and design capital of Canada and the 4th largest metropolis in North America, ranks number three after New York and Chicago as a head office location.

“For Teknion, IIDEX/NeoCon Canada has always been a major forum for us to share our innovative, design-driven new products with the top architects, designers and facility managers that this show typically attracts.”

“The wealth of products and services; the depth and breadth of thought-provoking, globally-based seminars; and the social camaraderie that is IIDEX/NeoCon Canada continue to sustain our industry. For the 2002 event, we were especially pleased to help with the launch of the GREENlife Sustainable Design area.”
- Joe Pettipas, Vice President, HOK Canada and Past President ARIDO

“IIDEX/NeoCon Canada is an event which provides an opportunity for suppliers to listen to the designer community on their distinct needs for product and design. It also permits us to share with the community our efforts in bringing new, innovative and environmentally friendly products to the Canadian market.”
- Jerry Lukawski, Vice President, Interface Flooring Systems

“Our IIDEX/NeoCon Canada experience gets better every time, with more leads every year. We market our hardware and fittings for every kind of design application to interior designers, architects, manufacturers and custom fabricators – and we can meet them all at this show.”
- Martin Hafele, President, Hafele Canada

“Every part of my experience was positive from the communication and arrangements related to my speaking engagement to the time spent on the show floor to the tours of Toronto projects.  The show floor was well organized and the exhibits themselves were interesting. Though the displays were limited by space, the manufacturers I visited had supplemental information and were very helpful in answering questions about the product.  The project tours demonstrated the vitality of the Canadian design industry and reinforced the positive impressions left by the show floor visits. I look forward to returning to Toronto when I can spend time learning more about the Canadian design industry.”
- Marilyn Archer, Vice President, Gensler, Houston, TX

“It’s the show for us . . . the quality of products, displays and events are always of the highest standard.”
- Diego Marin, Principal, Primavera Interior Furnishings

“IIDEX/NeoCon Canada provides a professional forum to recognize international design with well-deserved emphasis on Canadian product and interior design. It is by far the most effective networking stage and social event of the year.”
- Jim Egan, President, Egan Visual

“Prior to touring with the IIDEX/NeoCon Canada group I was familiar only with a few Canadian manufacturers: The factory tours were very helpful and I really appreciate the design and craftsmanship behind the products! It was great to see such a large number of wonderfully designed products that we can introduce to our design library. The trip was fantastic-great to open our eyes to the design that all of North America has to offer! Thanks for a wonderful trip!”
- Holly Williamson, Senior Interior Designer, Furnstahl and Simon Architects, New York, NY
